Nicolas only looked at William when he played. Spike, William, whatever. It made sense, he was clearly the one who knew the song the best and by watching him it was easiest to anticipate where this was going. The beat was strong enough to guide him too, no need to look at the drummer for that. Besides, Spike just posed a much better view. Nicolas still couldn't make music sound as it did in his head, but he could move his fingers almost impossibly fast, he could switch from pizzicato back to using his bow and he could let the violin sing with Spike.
It was a good match, that much was for certain. Exhilarating in itself, enough so that he might have kissed him if there had been any possible way that could conceivably be a good idea.
