Spike didn't say anything. His teeth were gritted and he didn't quite meet Nicolas's eyes. It was hard to know what to say. What to do. He matched it perfectly, he was amazing as he'd ever been. What was he supposed to do? Deny he was any good? But he hated losing and he hated even more that he was so madly in love with the music Nicolas made and he knew he couldn't have it, not forever.
