Nicolas decided that no further response was needed if he really was that close, so instead he just started to play his violin, because that seemed more effective than sending directions to Spike and he was just sober enough to still find the right notes and just drunk enough to sound as if possessed. Made Lestat sick, did it? Well, he'd play all the darker for it.
