Spike looked at Nicolas and instantly regretted it. Looking into his eyes was such a fatal error, it always hit him right where it hurt. Why didn't Nicolas notice him? Or want him? Was it because he was a bloody awful hunter? Because he was sure he could change that. With a slight sigh, Spike pulled himself upright and wiped the blood off his head, trying to make himself presentable.

"I guess we should head back, huh? Or I can. You can stay out but I'm guessing now is a good time to retreat." He didn't want to get Nicki into trouble with Buffy, that was the last thing in the world he wanted. Rubbing his head, he closed his eyes and huffed a little.
