"Dru... little help? Get the twat off me!"

Drusilla knew how to fight, she could have done something, even ask him nicely. But no, they were just making out over him. When he was finally free, he lashed his arm out at Lestat, trying to get him far away.

"Why do you get me to fight this sodding people if you're just going to take their bloody side," Spike snarled as he rubbed the side of his face, his skin bleeding from the rough brick he'd been forced into and his side aching from the hits it had gotten. And Lestat? Well, he had a slightly bleeding lip. That counted for something, right? With a frustrated hiss, he wanted to keep yelling at Dru but then she'd cry or get upset and he'd have a night of grovelling ahead.

He ruffled his hair and spat on the floor in disgust at Lestat, on the verge of lashing out again. Spike may have been smart but he never was that smart when it came to his pride. Same reason why he took that cigarette way back when even though he didn't smoke, he didn't like to look like he couldn't do something. Like win a fight.

"You better watch yourself! If you touch her again, I'm going to knock that smug smirk off your face. Don't think I can't, I was holding back," Spike huffed in annoyance and yanked Dru away from his line of sight, giving Nicolas a sideways look. "We're fine, piss off."

Fumbling with his pocket and pulling out his cigarette, he slipped it in his mouth and gave Lestat his best warning look.

Nicolas had a boyfriend. A boyfriend. He was gay and he had a boyfriend. Why the hell did that burn a hole in his stomach. He felt such hopelessness inside and he didn't even know why. Nicolas had barely been in his life, came and gone and clearly didn't take that much notice of him. Granted he'd changed but there was nothing, not even a flicker. With a sigh, he turned to Dru and bit back all of his anger at her, instead kissing her softly and letting his chin rest against her shoulder. "I wish you'd take my side more, pet. You know I love you more than any of those blokes ever will. Why isn't it ever enough?"

He didn't know why he even tried. She'd never love him like he loved her. One day he'd just have to face it and more on. "Eh, doesn't matter. As long as you don't leave me."

Spike didn't acknowledge the cry, he just suddenly looked at Dru like she was way more worth his time than Nicolas because hell, he had wanted this a minute ago but hearing that name almost made him wince. Shit, why did he want this again? Oh, right, because he was an idiot. "Dru, pet, don't respond to either of them. Pretend they're not there. We'll head in to find Angel in a sec, okay? Just ignore them."

Spike lit up his cigarette and took a deep inhale, more interested in that then even so much as owning up to being that idiot boy in the music room. Nope, no, he was not going back to that. Though it was kind of nice. To be remembered.

"Ready to go, Dru?"

"About him? He was someone I knew at school, is all. He was nice to me. I liked him," Crushed on him hard, turned up at the music room to hide behind the piano and listen to him play. Still kept that plectrum, still smoked, still kept on writing though it wasn't poetry now, it was music. Lyrics. He was vastly better at that, especially not he'd cut back talking like a sodding thesaurus. He supposed that after college and after the loss of his mother, he had lost a lot of his motivations to write. Dru has resparked that in him. "I was nothing back then so it doesn't matter if I liked him or not. He must have been a daft wanker to like an idiot like me."

He liked the way he was now, preferred it. Dru had picked out his hair colour and Angel had found his clothes. Between them, they made shy William into Spike, he didn't ever want to go back to what he was. He liked this life. "Let's not dwell on the past, love. Let's just go home."
